(NaturalNews) Do you consider yourself to be sensitive to gluten? Your problem with wheat, it turns out, may not be a problem with gluten at all. It may, in fact, be a problem with GLYPHOSATE.

Most people don't realize it, but even though wheat is not yet commercially grown as a genetically engineered crop, farmers saturate wheat crops with very high doses of glyphosate right before harvest, speeding the drying of the wheat stalks and accelerating harvest duration.

The result is that toxic, cancer-causing glyphosate herbicide is now found in many wheat products, including pasta, wheat bread, wheat flake breakfast cereals, donuts, bagels, cake mixes, snack crackers and much more.

Glyphosate is known to be toxic at parts per billion concentrations, meaning it only takes a very tiny amount to potentially impact your digestion and metabolism in a dangerous way.

What's the solution to glyphosate in wheat products? Buy ORGANIC wheat, which isn't legally allowed to be sprayed with glyphosate.

Once you switch to organic wheat, you may discover your "gluten" problems simply disappear... and that's because it wasn't a gluten problem to begin with. It was glyphosate poisoning!

Big Corporations Power Over Your Food Supply

                Editor's Note

You should pay attention to the concentration of our food supply. It is bad for your health and your wallet.

When power gets concentrated:

  • Higher prices result because price fixing is easier, i.e., YOUR GROCERY BILL INCREASES!
  • You have less choice of products, i.e., cheaper ingredients, GMOs, MSG, hidden MSG, aspartame, etc.
  • Innovation gets decreased because competition becomes more difficult;
  • You have less influence over product ingredients.

Stay away from Walmart!  It's sick that a third of the groceries are bought there!  Walmart heavily relies upon imported food from China.  Food grown in China has all kinds of safety issues.  Please see my page, http://survive-thrive.us/food-country-of-origin/.  Country of origin does matter for your health.  Also a recent study this year found that 54% of the food sold in Walmart would not meet Whole Foods standards to be sold in their stores.  Whole Foods has issues but nothing like Walmart, which I consider the bottom of the pit.

I visit a variety of grocery stores for market observations.  It is very striking time after time observing the physiological differences between shoppers at Trader Joes and Whole Foods compared to Walmart.  Many of the  grocery shoppers at Walmart are grossly morbidly obese yet when you visit Trader Joes or Whole Foods you do not see that degree of obesity there.  Just go and observe for yourself.

It makes you wonder could it be the foods these shoppers are selecting that is contributing to their physiological presence and health issues?

(You don't have to go to Walmart to save on your groceries.  You can afford to stay out of Walmart by eating Thrive foods.  Just contact me and I will show you how to save 20 to 40% or more by planning and not wasting food.)

Vote for your health and your pocketbook with your dollars!  Avoid purchasing any of these brands if at all possible!

Big Corporations Have An OVERWHELMING Amount Of Power Over Our Food Supply

By Michael T. Snyder, Guest Columnist, of TheEconomicCollapseBlog.com

From our fields to our forks, huge corporations have an overwhelming amount of power over our food supply every step of the way.  Right now there are more than 313 million people living in the United States, and the job of feeding all of those people is almost entirely in the hands of just a few dozen monolithic companies.  If you do not like how our food is produced or you don't believe that it is healthy enough, it isn't very hard to figure out who is to blame.  These mammoth corporations are not in business to look out for the best interests of the American people.  Rather, the purpose of these corporations is to maximize wealth for their shareholders.  So the American people end up eating billions of pounds of extremely unhealthy food that is loaded with chemicals and additives each year, and we just keep getting sicker and sicker as a society.  But these big corporations are raking in big profits, so they don't really care.

If we did actually have a capitalist system in this country, we would have a high level of competition in the food industry.  But instead, the U.S. food industry has become increasingly concentrated with each passing year.  Just consider the following numbers about the U.S. agricultural sector...

The U.S. agricultural sector suffers from abnormally high levels of concentration. Most economic sectors have concentration ratios around 40%, meaning that the top four firms in the industry control 40% of the market. If the concentration ratio is above 40%, experts believe competition can be threatened and market abuses are more likely to occur: the higher the number, the bigger the threat.

The concentration ratios in the agricultural sector are shocking.

-Four companies own 83.5% of the beef market.
-The top four firms own 66% of the hog industry.
-The top four firms control 58.5% of the broiler chicken industry.
-In the seed industry, four companies control 50% of the proprietary seed market and 43% of the commercial seed market worldwide.
-When it comes to genetically engineered (GE) crops, just one company, Monsanto, boasts control of over 85% of U.S. corn acreage and 91% of U.S. soybean acreage.

When so much power is concentrated in so few hands, it creates some tremendous dangers.

And many of these giant corporations (such as Monsanto) are extremely ruthless.  Small farmers all over America are being wiped out and forced out of the business by the predatory business practices of these huge companies...

Because farmers rely on both buyers and sellers for their business, concentrated markets squeeze them at both ends. Sellers with high market power can inflate the prices of machinery, seeds, fertilizers and other goods that farmers need for their farms, while powerful buyers, such as processors, suppress the prices farmers are paid. The razor-thin profit margins on which farmers are forced to operate often push them to "get big or get out"—expanding into mega-operations or exiting the business altogether.

Of course the control that big corporations have over our food supply does not end at the farms.

The distribution of our food is also very highly concentrated.  The graphic shared below was created by Oxfam International, and it shows how just 10 gigantic corporations control almost everything that we buy at the grocery store...

10 Corporations Control What We Eat

And these food distributors are often not very good citizens either.

For example, it was recently reported that Nestle is running a massive bottled water operation on a drought-stricken Indian reservation in California...

Among the windmills and creosote bushes of San Gorgonio Pass, a nondescript beige building stands flanked by water tanks. A sign at the entrance displays the logo of Arrowhead 100% Mountain Spring Water, with water flowing from a snowy mountain. Semi-trucks rumble in and out through the gates, carrying load after load of bottled water.

The plant, located on the Morongo Band of Mission Indians’ reservation, has been drawing water from wells alongside a spring in Millard Canyon for more than a decade. But as California’s drought deepens, some people in the area question how much water the plant is bottling and whether it’s right to sell water for profit in a desert region where springs are rare and underground aquifers have been declining.

Nestle doesn't stop to ask whether it is right or wrong to bottle water in the middle of the worst drought in the recorded history of the state of California.

They have the legal right to do it and they are making large profits doing it, and so they are just going to keep on doing it.

Perhaps you are thinking that you can avoid all of these corporations by eating organic and by shopping at natural food stores.

Well, it isn't necessarily that easy.

According to author Wenonah Hauter, the "health food industry" is also extremely concentrated...

Over the past 20 years, Whole Foods Market has acquired its competition, including Wellspring Grocery, Bread of Life, Bread & Circus, Food for Thought, Fresh Fields, Wild Oats Markets and others. Today the chain dominates the market because it has no national competitor. Over the past five years its gross sales have increased by half (47 percent) to $11.7 billion, and its net profit quadrupled to $465.6 million. One of the ways it has achieved this profitability is by selling conventional foods under the false illusion that they are better than products sold at a regular grocery store. Consumers falsely conclude that these products have been screened and are better, and they are willing to pay a higher price.

The distribution of organic foods is also extremely concentrated. A little-known company, United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI) now controls the distribution of organic and natural products. Publically traded, the company has a contract with Whole Foods and it is the major source of these products for the remaining independent natural food stores. This relationship has resulted in increasingly high prices for these foods. Small manufacturers are dependent on contracts with UNFI to get their products to market and conversely, small retailers often have to pay a premium price for products because of their dependence on this major distributor. Over the past five years, UNFI's net sales increased by more than half (55.6 percent) $5.2. billion. Its net profit margin increased by 88 percent to $91 million.

Everywhere you look, the corporations are in control.

And this is especially true when you look at big food retailers such as Wal-Mart.

Right now, grocery sales account for about half of all business at Wal-Mart, and approximately one out of every three dollars spent on groceries in the United States is spent at Wal-Mart.

That is absolutely astounding, and it obviously gives Wal-Mart an immense amount of power.

In fact, if you can believe it, Wal-Mart actually purchases a billion pounds of beef every single year.

So the next time someone asks you where the beef is, you can tell them that it is at Wal-Mart.

On the restaurant side, the ten largest fast food corporations account for 47 percent of all fast food sales, and the love affair that Americans have with fast food does not appear to be in danger of ending any time soon.

Personally, if you do not like how these corporate giants are behaving, you can always complain.

But you are just one person among 313 million, and most of these big corporations are not going to consider the ramblings of one person to be of any significance whatsoever.

Collectively, however, we have great power.  And the way that we are going to get these big corporations to change is by voting with our wallets.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of Americans seem quite satisfied with the status quo.  So the population as a whole is likely going to continue to get sicker, fatter and less healthy with each passing year, and the big food corporations are going to keep becoming even more powerful.

Xanax Ingredients: Includes GMOs, Artificial Coloring and More

Xanax Ingredients:  Do We Need the Same "Due Diligence" of Investigating as We Do With Food?

Photo: ShannonMcDowell.com

Would it surprise you to learn that the ingredients in Xanax includes GMOs or artificial coloring?

What happens when someone is sensitive to GMOs, artificial coloring and food dyes and other additives when they take prescribed medications?  What does the interaction between these "chemical additives" do when combined with prescribed drugs?  Does it set the person up for an allergic reaction?

Xanax, a popular drug has many negative side effects.  For example, many of these mass shooters were taking Xanax at the time of their heinous acts.  http://www.naturalnews.com/045571_Xanax_mass_shootings_psychiatric_drugs.html.

We need to do more investigation and "rethink" how we take prescription drugs.  For example, should prescription drugs be the last resort instead of the first thing we do in treating a condition?

You might find this article published by Natural News thought provoking:

Xanax made with GMOs, allergens and artificial coloring chemicals
July 14, 2014 by Aurora Gelb of NaturalNews.com

Just like nearly every other drug, the anti-anxiety drug Xanax contains fillers and additives that are listed as "inactive" ingredients, but which actually can pose significant health risks. The only way to avoid ingesting those potentially dangerous chemicals and compounds is to avoid taking the medications.

But does that mean you have to suffer with anxiety and panic disorder? Not at all. There's an alternative treatment which can be just as effective as Xanax, but which has none of the potential side effects and risks associated with the drug and its active and inactive ingredients. First, let's look at the "inactive" ingredients in Xanax.

Although alprazolam is listed as the primary or active ingredient, Xanax is made with GMOs, allergens and other ingredients that can cause health problems and reactions in many people. Here's an overview of some of the "inactive" ingredients lurking in a Xanax tablet:

  • Lactose: About a third of the population is lactose intolerant, and many more have low levels of lactase, the enzyme needed to properly digest lactose. People who are lactose intolerant may experience intestinal gas, bloating, stomach pain and cramps, diarrhea and even vomiting. (1)
  • Corn starch: Almost 90 percent of corn grown in the U.S. is genetically modified, injected with foreign DNA that helps plants tolerate higher levels of pesticides and herbicides, among other modifications. (2) Genetically modified crops are a relatively new invention, and therefore, their health risks have not been fully studied over a long period. Many scientists worry that the addition of new genetic material could cause health effects ranging from allergic reactions to more serious issues affecting the immune system, digestion or organ health. In addition, corn starch can become contaminated with gluten during manufacturing and production, increasing the risk of reaction among people with celiac disease and those with gluten sensitivity. Is Truvia Safe? It’s Great At Killing Fruit Flies and is Being Studied As a “Natural” Insecticide

Is Truvia Safe?  It’s Great At Killing Fruit Flies and is Being Studied As a “Natural” Insecticide

Editor’s Note:  Truvia is not “natural”.    Is Truvia safe?

It contains GMO.  (duh…what does that tell us?)  It also contains maltodextrin.  Whether the maltodextrin is genetically modified (most is) or non-GMO, maltodextrin is very unhealthy for diabetics.  It’s a highly glycemic!  If you want to control your diabetes, stay away from maltodextrin!

A big tipoff not to buy Truvia is that it is manufactured by Cargill, a big corporate farming/GMO pusher.

If Truvia kills off fruit flies prematurely, what do you think it’s doing to your gastrointestinal tract, which contains 80% of your immune system?

I’ve seen it in stores but never used it.  Hawked to those who are sugar conscious, diabetic and trying to lose weight, with it containing GMOs and reacting as a natural insecticide (which might be it’s true value), don’t you think the very thing you’re trying to prevent you actually increasing the chances that you will get it?  (i.e., advancing your diabetes, gaining more weight, etc.)

After the below study’s report, if you have been using Truvia, stop!  Please tell anyone you know to read this article!   Be on the lookout for a class action lawsuit.  Trust me, it’s coming!

Truvia sweetener a powerful pesticide; scientists shocked as fruit flies die in less than a week from eating GMO-derived erythritol

(NaturalNews) Truvia sweetener is made from about 99.5% erythritol (a sugar alcohol), and 0.5% rebiana, an extract from the stevia plant (but not at all the same thing as stevia). A shocking new study published in the journal PLOS ONE (1) has found that Truvia, an alternative sweetener manufactured by food giant Cargill, is a potent insecticide that kills fruit flies which consume it.

The study is titled, Erythritol, a Non-Nutritive Sugar Alcohol Sweetener and the Main Component of Truvia, Is a Palatable Ingested Insecticide.

The study found that while fruit flies normally live between 39 and 51 days, those that ate the Truvia ingredient erythritol died in less than a week.

Erythritol made from yeast fed genetically modified corn derivatives

Erythritol is often indirectly derived from genetically modified corn, by the way. Cargill was forced to settle a class action lawsuit last year (2) for labeling Truvia “natural” when it’s actually made from a fermentation process whereby yeast are fed GM corn maltodextrin.

Cargill plays word games with this process, insisting that “erythritol is not derived from corn or dextrose feedstock; it is derived from the yeast organism.”

Yeah, okay, but the yeast are fed GMOs. So they’re playing mind games with their explanations.

World Bank: Social Instability, Rising Food Prices and Shortages on Horizon

Editor’s Note:  Do you really think that America is going to be unscathed from the world rising food prices?

What about the impact of our droughts and water shortages in different locations?  What about Fukushima?  Or the flood of illegal immigrants coming across the US/Mexican border from Central America because they are jobless, hungry?  Or the negative impact that GMOs and corporate farming are having on our productivity and health?

Rising world food prices

World Bank warns of food riots as rising food prices push world populations toward revolt

(NaturalNews) A new report issued by the World Bank (1) warns that food prices are skyrocketing globally, with wheat up 18 percent and corn up 12 percent this quarter. Ukraine, one of the largest wheat exporters in the world, has suffered a 73 percent increase in domestic wheat costs. Argentina has seen wheat prices skyrocket 70 percent.

According to the World Bank, these price increases have been caused primarily by three factors: 1) Sharply higher demand for food in China, 2) U.S. drought conditions that hammered wheat production, and 3) unrest in Ukraine due to the near state of war with Russia.

Rising food prices lead to food riots

According to the World Bank, rising food prices have caused 51 food riots in 37 countries since 2007. These include Tunisia, South Africa, Cameroon and India, among other nations.

“Food price shocks can both spark and exacerbate conflict and political instability,” warns the report.

A World Bank blog entry by Senior Economist Jose Cuesta entitled “No Food, No Peace” (2) warns that “It is quite likely that we will experience more food riots in the foreseeable future… food price shocks have repeatedly led to spontaneous — typically urban — sociopolitical instability.”

Public Health Alert: We Must Stop Agent Orange Corn From Entering Our Food Supply

The Traditional Grocery Store Just May Die if We Allow the Government to Approve Agent Orange Corn

Corn and its derivatives (i.e., part of a food processing chemical) is extensive throughout the traditional grocery store offerings.  For example, 14% of the food products in Walmart just contain one corn product, high fructose corn syrup.  Already 88% of the corn in your grocery store is genetically modified. This GM corn, which is not only made Round-up resistant, but has a natural insecticide added inside the seed, called BT, is linked to an array of health issues and conditions affecting our immune system, i.e., allergies, leaky gut syndrome, cancer and an array of other conditions.

When I was growing up in the 1960’s and 70’s (yes, I am “dating” myself) a child or schoolmate having a food allergy was unheard of.  I can only remember one person who had a peanut allergy.

The American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as of 2008 estimated that as many as 15 million Americans, including approximately 6 million children, have food allergies.  They believe that the actual number of food related allergies are underdiagnosed.

If you are concerned about Monsanto’s Round-up/BT GMO corn being linked to increased allergies, just wait until Dow Chemical’s “agent orange corn” starts infiltrating the food processing system.

Because Mother Nature has adapted to Round-up with superweeds that are taller than humans  (despite more and more herbicides being doused into the soil), just wait until the more powerful herbicides with Agent Orange infiltrate our environment and food supply.

The public has been fighting the USDA and the FDA on this issue for more than 2 years.  We can’t give up this fight unless we want the traditional grocery store, which is very ill, finally destroyed as a reliable, safe place for purchasing our products.

Now it looks like the USDA is going to green-light Dow’s “Agent Orange” corn and soybeans.

The time for petitioning has been extended until March 11th.  Please read the petition and consider signing it.

If this filters in look for an implosion of food allergies, chronic disease, cancer, etc.  Already over 2 million people are now allergic to corn alone.

If they keep on, those who value having good, healthy foods and selectively shop at supermarkets in trying to avoid the risk of the “agent orange” fallout, will be displaced to growing their own food, adopting aquaponics (not cheap), finding organic and non-gmo farms, etc., which is time consuming and more complicated for those residing in large urban areas.

Two years ago I did research on Dow Chemical, its legacy and the controversial “Agent Orange” corn.  What I wrote then is relevant today.  I ask that you consider it.

Dow Agent Orange Corn and Its Threat to Humanity

No-Name Attorney

(February, 2102)

We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.

Benjamin Franklin, at the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Introduction

Before talking to about the quality of our lives, our children’s lives and future generations’ well-being at risk by Dow Chemical wanting to introduce “Agent Orange” corn into our food supply, I want you share some history and the power of the American people.

Probably my favorite American statesman in history was Benjamin Franklin. He had such brilliance in science, history, politics, newspaper editor, and even wisdom.  He was far from a perfect person, with a special penchant towards sexual escapades, as it is said he had over 106 illegitimate children.  Despite his personal failures, he did have some great wisdom for the Colonies, or the newly formed United States of America.   His Poor Richard’s Almanac was famous for its wise and clever sayings to his countryman.

Ben is right on this one: together is better than separate. When people join together for a good cause or purpose, they’re much more powerful, almost creating an energy force greater than the sum. When we do our individual act, the “lone wolf” thing, we’re much easier to suppress and silence.

There is tremendous power in numbers, even when any “control” group tries to manipulate us. We allow others to control us many times by telling us that we can’t do things, we don’t have the power, etc. Think of the child that is browbeaten by a negative parent.  Does that child grow up in essence being tied up in an invisible straight jacket? And what happens when that child wants out of that straight jacket, wants to be set “free” of the “mental” bondage?

He soars!

We, Americans (and the rest of the world who will eventually be negatively impacted), need to soar.  Big corporate Dow (Chemical) agra is seeking permission from the FDA to create their version of GMO (genetically modified organisms) or GE (genetically engineered) corn. I hate to say it but it seems that this version of corn will be even more dangerous than Monsanto’s BT corn !! (Monsanto inserts glyphosate-Roundup-and Bacillus thuringiensis toxins into the seeds to make them purportedly more resistant to weeds, insects worms and pests.)

Here Comes Agent Orange” Corn Unless We Rise Up

Agent Orange was manufactured by Monsanto and Dow Chemical.

Do you remember the Agent Orange of Vietnam that poisoned the Vietnamese, Laotians, Cambodians and our soldiers?

According to Stars and Stripes (August 11, 2011) the devastation to our Vietnam veterans is growing with claims of over 84,000 for heart disease and B-Cell leukemia.  Another 74,000 claims were pending for “presumptive” Agent Orange conditions.

Even the Veteran’s Administration acknowledges (http://www.publichealth.va.gov/exposures/agentorange/conditions/index.asp) that vets exposed to Agent Orange are at risk for certain cancers and diseases from their exposure, including:

  • AL Amyloidosis
  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
  • Chronic B-cell Leukemias
  • Chloracne (or similar acneform disease)
  • Diabetes Mellitus Type 2
  • Hodgkin’s Disease
  • Ischemic Heart Disease
  • Multiple Myeloma
  • Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Acute and Subacute Peripheral Neuropathy
  • Porphyria Cutanea Tarda
  • Prostate Cancer
  • Respiratory Cancers (including lung cancer)
  • Soft Tissue Sarcomas (other than osteosarcoma, chondrosarcoma, Kaposi’s sarcoma, or mesothelioma)

Unfortunately this is just the tip of the iceberg.  This toxin, like other toxins, changes the DNA of a person exposed.  This means that the “created” genetic breakdowns get passed on from generation to generation.  The VA acknowledges that Vietnam veterans’ children with congenital deformities and conditions came from their parent’s exposure, i.e., spinal bifida occulta.

For the Vietnamese, they have even a more tragic experience (if our soldiers’ experience was not enough).

By 1971 over 19,000,000 gallons of Agent Orange and other combined toxic herbicides were dumped in Vietnam, mainly in the middle region of the country.  These people are suffering from cancers, neurological conditions and birth defects some 40+ years later.

Today Vietnam has among the highest number of birth defects per capital in the world.”

Many babies are stillborn with serious malformations.  Look at this picture taken by STR New/Reuters and published by Time magazine on December 19, 2009

Agent orange deformed babies

From Time Magazine, December 19, 2009

Here are some photos of children who survived the birthing process, which should strike anyone’s conscience, are “mild” (yet considerable birth defects) compared to the Reuters/Time photo and the video footage I have seen on YouTube.

What the Vietnam experience shows is Agent Orange, and its dioxin, gets into the soil, the water, the fish, etc. and it seems to have a life of its own After 40 years it is still going strong.  In one of the reference videos below a Vietnamese scientist says he expects it will still be there for at least 100 years.

We already have issues with Roundup, where it is used, contaminating soil, lakes, drinking water supplies, etc.

Can you imagine what it will be like if this Dow GMO Agent Orange Corn gets approved and teams up with the Monsanto BT GMO corn? Independent of the health risks when we eat it (as with our experience with antibiotics) over time, resistance develops and so more of the herbicide will be required. Its a damaging, vicious, poisonous circle.

What Can I Do?

We have to get engaged. We need to sign petitions against Dow’s Agent Orange Corn seeking FDA approval.  The cut-off is February 27th for signing the petition.  After signing the petition, call at least 10 people and tell them that you are sending them information that might interest them. Forward to as many people you personally know the petition link, this email or write your own email.  You want them to be looking for it in case it ends up in the junk or spam folder. Encourage them to call and forward to 10 or more people. That’s the first step.

The Institute for Responsible Technology has a good petition drafted. I’ve already signed it. Here’s the link:

If you receive this after February 27th, 2012, then I still encourage you to voice your concern to the FDA’s Biotechnology Division (http://www.fda.gov/Food/Biotechnology/default.htm).  On their page they list the following contact information:

Things like this happening (or being attempted) is why you need to know the source of your food.  Try to buy only organic and non-GMO foods. Grocery stores will not voluntarily label produce or cans that have GMO ingredients.  (If they did that I suspect the food would not sell or sales would be decreased.)

Grow your own garden.

Buy locally from farmers or farmers markets. Just because a vendor is selling at a farmers market does not mean you are safe from GMO produce.  (At my local farmers market all the vendors did not have organic produce. I do not have this option.)

Stay connected to internet websites that report on GMOs.  Some excellent sites are:

 www.responsibletechnology.org

www.naturalnews.com

www.greenmedinfo.com

Tell friends, family, co-workers and acquaintances about GMOs and their risks to our health and our environment.

These agra bio-tech companies are increasing their GMO activities, research and intensities.  This means you have to stay current and engaged.

Remember, companies like Monsanto, Dow Chemical want you to sit on the sidelines and not get involved.  Ask yourself:  Are you willing to give these companies in essence de facto control over you and your family’s lives?

Monsanto in Europe: Consumers Won This Battle in the War

Monsanto in Europe:  Consumers Won This Battle in the War

This weekend at an expo I was talking with a customer about the Monsanto problem.  He thought that GMOs would remain because of the greed and power of Monsanto.

I politely disagreed with him.  Monsanto and minions may have won the battle in California but they will lose this war.

All it takes is people voting with their dollars on their health at the traditional grocery store rejecting any product with a GMO ingredient.

Grocery stores had better wake up because approximately 80% of their food products contain one or more genetically modified ingredients.

As customers learn more about which plants are potentially GMO and read the labels, they will start rejecting foods with those items unless they have been non-GMO verified or organic.

The surrender of Europe by Monsanto is just the first wall to fall.  Monsanto is saving its resources for the next battle and trying to reduce the wrath they’ve stirred in Europe.

So keep voting on your health with your dollars by avoiding GMO foods.  Probably in 10 years or less if we stay persistent consumers will win this war and regain control over their food.

Think about it!  It’s exciting!–No Name Attorney

Lobbying And GMO Giant Monsanto Buckles In Europe

Friday, May 31, 2013 at 6:49PM

The “March Against Monsanto” in 52 countries, an unapproved strain of its genetically modified wheat growing on its own in Oregon, cancelled wheat export orders…. A rough week for Monsanto.

But now it threw in the towel in Europe – where its genetically modified seeds have faced stiff resistance at every twist and turn. Even its deep corporate pockets and mastery of lobbying have failed: “It’s counterproductive to fight against windmills,” its spokesman told the Tageszeitung.

The propitious week started last Saturday with the “March Against Monsanto,” when people in over 400 cities in 52 countries protested against the company, its influence over governments, and its GMO seeds. Much of it was focused on the mundane issue of labeling. Protesters wanted GMO ingredients in food to show up on the label, just like fat or protein. A simple solution to the controversy: let consumers decide.

GMO Wheat:  Unapproved GMO Wheat Found in Oregon, Other States Possible

If you’re a farmer or know one that grows wheat, you need to have your crops tested as to whether they’ve been cross-contaminated.  If you have some of your seed left from planting this year’s crop, have it tested.

Monsanto bullies farmers who experience cross contamination, when Monsanto patented seeds spread to non-GMO crops, with litigation.  They are the legal bully of all bullies.  For more see Seed Giants v. U. S. Farmers report.

If Monsanto or its agents come to you asking you (or threatening you if you don’t) to plant their seeds and use their Round-up (glyophosate) at low costs (remember this is initially but is not long term), do not sign that agreement without getting skilled, independent counsel, who is knowledgable in agricultural law and litigation.

Why?  Because these seeds apparently were not government approved but were experiments.  As such it may turn out Monsanto violated the law.  Also, Monsanto appears negligent in containing their experiment.  They are responsible for the cross-contamination unless the government exempted them from liability (which is unlikely with an experiment).

Wheat farmers are going to take a financial beating for this cross-contamination this year as contaminated exports are already starting to get rejected.

If a farmer signs any Monsanto agreement on seeds, etc., trust me, in that agreement you will waive your rights to sue for damages plus that agreement will shift the litigation damages and expenses to you.   The later is standard protoccol in their patented seed agreements.

Instead, farmers should see whether their crops have been contaminated, and if so, document their damages, and get legal counsel.

Farmers might want to contact the Center For Food Safety’s in-house counsel and Executive Director, Andrew Kimball, for a referral to an independent, seasoned agricultural law attorney.  The Center for Food Safety’s phone number is (202) 547-9359.

I suspect a mother of all class action lawsuits awaits Monsanto.  This is one the farmers should address in the courts so they can be fairly compensated.

GMO genetic pollution alert: Genetically engineered wheat escapes experimental  fields planted across 16 states

Mike Adams

(NaturalNews) The genetic apocalypse we’ve been warning about for years may have  already begun. The USDA just announced they found a significant amount of genetically engineered wheat growing in farm fields in Oregon. As the USDA  announced yesterday, “…test results of plant samples from an Oregon farm  indicate the presence of genetically engineered (GE) glyphosate-resistant wheat  plants.”Why is this a big deal? Because GE wheat has never been approved  for commercialization or sale. These strains of GE wheat escaped from GMO  field experiments conducted across 16 states by Monsanto from 1998 to 2005.  As the USDA states, “Further testing by USDA laboratories indicates the presence  of the same GE glyphosate-resistant wheat variety that Monsanto was authorized  to field test in 16 states from 1998 to 2005.”And that means genetic  pollution is already out of control. The GE wheat for which Monsanto claims  patent ownership is now invading farms that never planted GE wheat.

Increase Loss of Crops: Will Bee Colony Collapse Disorder Increase?

Increase Loss of Crops:  Will Bee Colony Collapse Disorder Increase?

I appreciate Anthony’s article.  He is one to follow at his Natural Society website.

If our bee population keeps decreasing from Colony Collapse Disorder, how will our edible plants we grow that need pollination are going to grow?  And what about our supply of honey?

You have to wonder  why our government would approve this with the Colony Collapse Disorder problems we are having with bees?   How well was this researched before approving this?

Don’t you think that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) conduct extensive studies on Roundup (glyophosphate) and other pesticides?  Once the genie is out of the bottle, how difficult is it to put it back in?

Insanity:  US Approves Bee Death Pesticide as EU Bans It

Corporate politics is business as usual inside the United States, as I am  once again shocked to report the EPA has  sided with industry lobbyists over public health in approving a  highly dangerous pesticide that the European Union recently decided to ban over  fears of environmental devastation. Not only have neonicotinoid  pesticides been linked repeatedly to mass bee deaths, also known as Colony  Collapse Disorder (CCD), but the  continued use of such pesticides threatens other aspects of nature (and humans)  as well.

What’s even more amazing is that the decision not only comes after  the EU publicly  discussed the major dangers surrounding the use of the pesticides, but after  the USDA released a report surrounding the continued honeybee deaths and the  related effects — a report in which they detailed pesticides to be a  contributing factor. Just the impact on the honeybees alone, and we now know  that these pesticides are killing  aquatic life and subsequently the birds that feed upon them, amounts to a  potential $200 billion in global damages per year. We’re  talking about the devastation of over 100 crops, from apples to  avocados and plums.

And there’s countless scientists and a large number of environmental science  groups speaking out on this. The EPA has no  lack of information the subject. And sure, there are other contributing factors  to bee deaths, there’s no question about that. We have an environment right now  being hit with Monsanto’s Roundup even in residential areas, we have chemical  rain, we have insane amounts of EMF — but it’s pretty clear  that neonicotinoid pesticides are at least a major contributing factor. And  beyond that, they have no place in the food supply to begin with.

The Pesticide Action Network (PAN)  details the EU ban that came right before the EPA acceptance of the death-linked   pesticide:

“The EU vote comes after significant findings by the European Food Safety  Agency that these pesticides pose an unacceptable risk to bees and their use  should be restricted. Along with habitat loss and pathogens, a growing body of  science points to neonicotinoid pesticides as a key factor in drastically  declining bee populations.”

So why are they approving this pesticide to now pollute the United States in  what potentially amounts to an even larger capacity than the EU? A move that  will ultimately escalate the price of food worldwide due to the likely nature of  continued bee deaths and subsequent crop impact? That’s the power of phony  corporate science.

Imported Foods Alert: Hidden GMOs

Imported Foods Alert:  Hidden GMOs

By NoName Atttorney

If you want to buy non-GMO food products in the US all you have to do is be careful which basic foods–whole, processed or ingredient form–you buy.  The GMO crops in U.S. agriculture are:  soybeans, corn, canola (or rapeseed), sugar beets (sugar), cotton (cottonseed oil), Hawaiian papaya, zucchini and yellow crooknecked squash.  But what about imported foods?  What do you do about them?

Processed food manufacturers just list the ingredients.  It is not the industry practice to tell  you what the country of origin is for each individual ingredient.   The FDA does not require this disclosure.  Moreover, too many processors will say “packed in the U.S.”  This is not the same as “grown in the U.S.”  If that processed food has additives or preservatives, i.e., maltodextrin, even if the individual fruits, vegetables, grains, etc. came from the US that does not mean the additive, a creation, was “grown” in the US.

The percentage of our food supply that is imported is increasing. Some food sources are more likely to be imported than others as this graph from the FDA illustrates with the latest data.

US Food Imports

Source: FDA

Since 20% of our food is imported, one needs to know which countries grow GMO foods and the type of GMOs grown.  The top 6 countries that grow GM crops are the U.S., Brazil, Argentina, India, Canada and China  They account for approximately  92% of the GM world crops. Common GMO crops grown among the top 6 countries are cotton,  corn, soybean, sugar beets, papaya and canola.  China is unique in growing GMO tomatoes and sweet peppers (as well as Poplar trees).

gmo MAPS WITH CROPS

It is important to know which country your vegetables were grown as well as which nations are growing GMO crops.  Without knowing the country of origin and whether that nation allows GMO crops, and if so, which ones, all our efforts to avoid GMO foods are substantially undercut.

When in doubt as to the country origin of food, only buy organic or non-GMO labeled foods.
