How You Can Help Support The Mission Without Donations

Integtation of food health and finances

Survive-Thrive.Us is a consumer ministry encouraging wise food, health and economic stewardship.

These three—food, health and economics—are so interrelated, more than we realize.

I have a passion for sharing how the quality, ingredients and type of food we consume impacts our health and pocketbooks.  This comes in part from my personal experience and career.  It also comes from my love for my family, friends and other people.

This passion stays in my thoughts daily and I believe that in this point in time it is part of my purpose in life.

This passion is growing in taking time and resources trying to spread the message of encouraging everyone to examine what we eat and how it contributes to our health.

Whereas some people ask for donations to help them with growing projects that is bigger than the budget, I would rather you buy food and supplies that you need.  Commissions I get as a Thrive consultant pays for all the travel, product samples, presentations, giveaways, website expenses, IT bills, handouts, literature, etc.

If you’d like to see this consumer ministry grow, then would you consider?

    • Purchasing your groceries, long term or emergency food, rotation shelving or emergency supplies from the website that you and your family want or need;
    • Referring family and friends to this website for their groceries, long term or emergency food, rotation shelving or emergency supplies needs;
    • Placing a link or button on your website;
    • Placing a link to this website if you have a newsletter;
    • Joining the team as a consultant and being part of the mission effort;
    • Inviting me and team members to speak at your church, social or community group, or
    • Clicking on one of our Amazon links to enter the website for any of your shopping needs.  We do get a very small commission (giving full disclosure–we have decided against selling advertising space) from Amazon when you purchase at that visit.  (Each time you go to you will need to come back to this website and click the link if you want to make sure the ministry gets credit.)  Hopefully we will introduce you to new products which can affect the quality of your life.

Any other ideas you have on how the website or I can be more effective,please feel free in sharing them in an email to

Bottom line, I am grateful to all of those who have supported or choose to support in the future these efforts.

Remember, real and significant change does not happen immediately or at the snap of one’s fingers.  (It would be nice if it worked that way! :))

Change is a process.  It begins with each of us one day at a time.  One needs to know themselves and why you are here.

Change comes from not giving up when we face obstacles or trials.  It takes conviction, determination and persistence.  All things are possible.  (See Romans 8:28)

May You and Your Family Be Abundantly Blessed!

CDC Suicide Statistics: Suicide Is Now #1 Cause of Injury Death

CDC Suicide Statistics: Suicide Is Now #1 Cause of Injury Death

A cry for help. If you know someone that is suicidal, reach out. Don’t ignore it!

I accidentally came across an article that was saying suicide is now the number 1 cause of injury death, more than auto accidents.

It shocked me.  So I did some more research on this and discovered up to the latest year for which we have statistics, 2009, that this is true.  (see below WebMD article)

We all hear too often that someone within our church or community died of from injuries sustained in an auto accident.  But to think that people taking their own life now exceeds car deaths, honestly, it just floors me.

Something is going very, very wrong within our culture.

It makes you wonder how many of these deaths are connected to individuals taking SSRI and psychotropic drugs?  How many of these deaths might be connected to an adverse drug reaction (i.e., allergic to the drug, bad interaction with other drugs, etc.)?  Or what about people who are very depressed over loss of employment, interpersonal issues?  How much does our lack of quality diet contribute to depression?

How  much does the media hype and crisis mode helps contribute to these situations?

So be more sensitive to others around you.  Let’s all work on improving our diets, exercising more, getting more sleep so we are more resilient.  Let’s turn things over to God and look for direction from Him.  Research shows that prayer and mediation helps defuse things.

This nation has never had a history before of having high suicide rates.  We need to stop this in its tracks.

Think about it! –NoNameAttorney

Suicide, Not Car Crashes, #1 Cause of Injury Death

By WebMD Health News

Reviewed by Louise  Chang, MD

Sept. 20, 2012 — Suicide has overtaken car crashes as the leading cause of injury-related deaths in the U.S.

While public health efforts have curbed the number of car fatalities by 25% over the last decade, a new study shows suicide deaths rose by 15% during the same period.

In addition, deaths from unintentional poisoning and falls have also increased dramatically in recent years.

Researchers found deaths caused by accidental poisoning and falls increased by 128% and 71%, respectively.

“Comprehensive and sustained traffic safety measures have apparently substantially diminished the motor vehicle traffic mortality rate, and similar attention and resources are needed to reduce the burden of other injury,” researcher Ian Rockett, PhD, MPH of West Virginia University and colleagues write in the American Journal of Public Health.

Causes of Death Evolving

In the study, researchers looked at cause of death data from the National Center for Health Statistics from 2000 to 2009.

“Contrasting with disease mortality, the injury mortality rate trended upward during most of that decade,” write the researchers.

The top five leading causes of injury-related deaths were:

1.  Suicide

2.  Motor vehicle crashes

3.  Poisoning

4.  Falls

5.  Homicide

Researchers say the findings demonstrate that suicide is now a global public health issue.

Time to Call Senators: Speak Out Against Monsanto Protection Act

Time to Call Senators:  Speak Out Against Monsanto Protection Act

The Monsanto Protection Act is in both houses of Congress.  Monsanto supporters put the provision as a rider on pending Appropriations legislation.  This rider, which could become legislation with a positive vote, puts Monsanto above the law.  The judicial system would lose its power to question or rule on their activities when they violate regulatory provisions or statutes in introducing new GMOs into the marketplace.

You and I have to obey traffic laws, criminal laws, civil laws, etc. or we face penalties, judgments or possibly incarceration.  Can you explain to me why a special sub-segment of an industry should not face what we face?  Is that fairness or justice?

Apparently the vote in the Senate for what’s been labeled the Monsanto Protection Act will happen on next Wednesday, March 27, 2013.  Please contact your two Senators and tell them you want them to support the Tester Amendment 74 regarding the Monsanto Rider.

If you think your phone call is a waste of time, you’re wrong!  In the early portion of my career I worked in two Congressmen’s offices.  Congressional staff members collect number of phone calls on pending legislation (support or against) and report them to their boss.

Here is a list of all U. S. Senators, their state and phone numbers:  U.S. Senator Phone Directory.  If you want to be effective, then only call the Senators from your state.  Even if you can get though to the staff of the other Senators, they probably will count your call in their talley.  –No Name Attorney

Action Alert:  We Have 1 Week Or Less to Stop Genetically Engineered Foods and Destruction of the Separation of Powers

Posted on March 20, 2013 by WashingtonsBlog

 Do We Have a Right to Know If Our Food Has Been Genetically Modified?Painting by Anthony Freda:

Bill Would Strip Courts of Power … And Push Genetically Modified Foods Onto Our Plates

America has been decimated by the breakdown of the separation of powers between different branches of government. For example, the executive branch is negotiating laws in secret – and grabbing powers – without telling Congress.And life-and-death decisions about who the government labels an “enemy combatant” and assassinates are being kept away from the judges altogether.At the same time, government agencies like the FDA go to great lengths to cover up the potential health damage from genetically modified foods, and to keep the consumer in the dark about what they’re really eating.

Remember, genetically engineered foods have been linked to obesity, cancer, liver failure, infertility and all sorts of other diseases (brief, must-watch videos here and here).Things are about to get a lot worse within the next week … unless we stand up and say “NO!”Specifically, a law has been snuck into the Agriculture Appropriations bill – which will be approved by March 27th – which would destroy the separation of powers by stripping courts of the power to challenge genetically modified foods.How?The “Monsanto Rider” (section 735) uses “farmer-friendly” happy talk, but is an iron-fisted ploy to allow GMO crops to be planted even if a court has ruled that planting them is illegal.If the United States Department of Agriculture – which suffered “regulatory capture” by the big food companies decades ago – approves a genetically modified food without any testing, a court can enjoin (i.e. halt) production of that food until testing occurs.Yet the Monsanto Rider would strip the courts of power, and would allow GMO crops to be planted and put in our food … no matter what a judge has ruled.As the Weston Price Foundation notes:

If a GMO crop approval was shown to violate the law and require further analysis of its harmful impacts (as several courts have concluded in recent years, for example with GMO alfalfa and GMO sugar beets) this provision would override any court-mandated caution and allow continued planting and commercialization while further review takes place.Here’s a good summary of the bill.
